Food & Longevity – Quarterly

10:30 am

Join Senior Living Sales Counselor Mary Ayers to learn more about food and longevity. At every session attendees will be introduced to the USDA’s MyPlate program. Additional topics that can be covered include:

  • Nutrition difficulties due to physical difficulties – such as Arthritis, dental problems, vision. In this session we will explore ways to increase nutrition through use of assistive devices, changes in food preparation, how ‘first we must eat with our eyes’.
  • Simple Food, Simple Pleasure – Show, tell and taste examples of ways to introduce nutritious food items into the diet without a total rework of an individual’s food preferences.
  • Towards the end of the year we will discuss approaching the Holiday traditions with dietary restrictions – Holidays are often stressful enough without adding in special preparation for one individual. We will provide helpful tips as to how dishes can be adjusted that will suit everyone’s expectations.

Event dates: This presentation series will take place quarterly on the second Tuesday of the second month.

Event time: 10:30 – 11:30 AM
